A first-ever event will bring artists and live music to Pearland’s Old Townsite district on April 26.
Pearland Arts and Eats is scheduled from 10 am to 5 pm at 2314 Grand Blvd.
Described as a spring celebration of Pearland’s Old Townsite district, the Saturday festival includes a family fun zone with cake walks, crafts, outdoor carnival games, and face painting. An “Artists’ Alley” in Zychlinski Park will highlight painters, woodworkers, jewelry makers, textiles, pottery, and more, while the Old Pearland Farmer’s Market will be open, offering produce and handmade items.
Live music begins with Patty O’Beers at 10 am, followed by Brightwire at 11:45 am. Little Outfit performs from 1:30 to 3 pm, followed by Grifters & Shills from 3:15 to 4:45 pm.
On Friday evening before the festival, the Pearland Chamber of Commerce is planning a Grand Dinner Experience on Grand Boulevard.
“Individuals can celebrate the history of Old Town and bring our community together in a relaxed evening along Grand Boulevard,” Pearland Chamber CEO Jim Johnson said.
Pearland City Council on March 10 granted a special event permit for the dinner and festival. The event is a collaboration among Visit Pearland, the Chamber, Old Pearland Farmer’s Market, and First United Methodist Church.
Road closures will include Grand Blvd. between Zychlinski Drive and East Jasmine from 8 am. April 24 until 2 pm April 28; Zychlinski Drive between Park Avenue and Grand Blvd. from 8 am to 6 pm April 26; and East Jasmine between N. Houston Avenue and Grand Blvd. from 8 am to 6 pm April 26.
