Early voting to begin in May 3 elections

Early voting in the May 3 local election is set to begin Tuesday, April 22, at 12 locations throughout the county, including three in Pearland.

Early voting hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through April 26 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 28 and 29.

Early voting sites include the Tom Reid Library, 3522 Liberty Drive; West Pearland Community Center, 2150 Countryplace Parkway; and the West Pearland Library, 11801 Shadow Creek Parkway. Locations also include the East Annex in Angleton, public libraries in Alvin, Freeport and Brazoria, Clute Event Center, Doris Williams Civic Center in Lake Jackson, Manvel Annex, Sweeny Community Center, and Precinct 4 Building in West Columbia.

The May election includes two seats on the Pearland ISD school board and the Alvin ISD school board. There are no contested races for the City of Pearland.

Candidates for PISD Position No. 6 are incumbent Jenny Francis and challenger Jim Johnson; candidates for Position No. 5 are Azania Salazar and Daniel Stuckey.

Candidates for AISD Position No. 4 are incumbent Regan Peterson and challenger Brian Roberson II; candidates for Position No. 5 are Cheryl Harris, T’Liza Kiel, and Kelly Nichole Poindexter.
