After years of storing decorations, ribbons, holiday items, and much more, Heritage Gardeners cleaned out their clubhouse attic. They are hosting their first Attic Sale August 7, 8 and 9 from 9 am to 4 pm each day.
Crafty people will enjoy this large sale which will be indoors and air conditioned. Ribbon, bows, ornaments, silk flowers and greenery, fabrics and holiday trinkets will invigorate minds to determine ways to repurpose items into new décor.
The garden club members for many years crafted all the decorations needed for the holiday homes tours. From wreaths to tablescapes, to indoor and outdoor color, it was all from members and many of these treasures are part of the sale.
One room offers Christmas in August and holiday items are everywhere.
There are also kitchen items, glassware, and knickknacks that the club wants to passalong to new owners.
The sale will be at 112 W. Spreading Oaks (behind Friendswood Public Library) in the little yellow cottage which serves as the clubhouse. All are invited to come shop.
The club is not having its annual huge garage sale this year where members of the community drop off items. The Attic Sale filled the small house and will be this summer’s event for the club.
The members are approaching a new year of meetings in September. Plans are underway to celebrate the group’s 60th anniversary. The club was founded in 1966. More information on what is planned will be given later.
The first meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 4. A speaker will present “Native Plants that Fit Easily into A Home Landscape.” The public is invited. Meet and greet at 9:30 am with the speaker at 10 am.
