Friendswood ISD will welcome families, staff, and community members to the ninth annual Under the Oaks celebration on Thursday, August 7, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in front of the Friendswood Schools Museum.
The event, now a beloved back-to-school tradition, offers a chance for the community to come together in a spirit of unity and support. Superintendent Thad J. Roher and other district leaders will share their outlook for the 2025–2026 school year, highlighting district goals and the continued commitment to excellence.
Attendees can enjoy fellowship with members of the FISD family while enjoying kettle corn and refreshments under the historic oak trees.
“Being part of the Mustang community means being part of something greater than yourself,” said Superintendent Roher. “It’s about upholding a tradition of perseverance, innovation, and high standards.”
The event is open to all parents, students, local leaders, business partners, and residents.
