Friendswood ISD Celebrates Six National Merit Semi-finalists

Friendswood Independent School District is proud to announce that six outstanding students have been named Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented seniors are among approximately 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide who now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships.

The students recognized as Semifinalists are:
Ishan Pendyala
Aayush Jetly
Jane Vo
Jason Wei
Charlie Tran
Daniel Levin

“Our Semifinalists represent the highest level of academic achievement in our district. Their accomplishments are a testament not only to their individual dedication but also to the strength of our academic programs and the commitment of our educators.” said Thad Roher, Superintendent of Friendswood ISD.

The National Merit Scholarship Program, established in 1955, honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. To become a Finalist, each Semifinalist must submit a detailed scholarship application that includes academic records, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received.
