The 32nd annual Pearland Tour de Lites unfolds Saturday, as cyclists of all ages take a leisurely ride through the city’s holiday lights while supporting the Forever Parks Foundation.
Beginning at Independence Park, the annual ride goes through the Green Tee subdivision and includes rest stops, support and a hayride for non-cyclists.
Check-in and refreshments are 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the park, 3449 Pearland Parkway, with a bike decoration and lighting contest from 5:30 to 5:50 p.m. After awards and announcements, the ride begins at 6 p.m., returning to the park at about 8 p.m. Saturday’s forecast is mostly cloudy with a low around 57 degrees.
Space is limited on the hayride and advance registration is encouraged.
All fees support the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland, a nonprofit that raises funds for local parks, including supporting the Phase II of Independence Park and an inclusive play initiative.
Fees for the Tour de Lites are $15 per single rider, $5 for additional family members, $20 for the adult hayride and $10 for child hayride admission.
Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult and all riders are required to wear helmets.
