National anthem singing contest opens for ages 6-16

The Pearland VFW Post 7109 Auxiliary is hosting a national anthem singing contest for youth ages 6 to 16 at the time of local entry. 

Contestants must be a US citizen or US national. Participants do not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate but must live or attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary which is Pearland VFW Auxiliary Post 7109.

To compete, contestants enter a video of their solo vocal performance of The Star-Spangled Banner recorded at any time from July 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. The performance can be a cappella, with backing tracks or with instruments. Contestant may sing in the arrangement and genre of their choice but cannot change the words.

One winner in each of the National Auxiliary Program Divisions will receive a $100 VISA gift card and one national winner will be selected from the 10 National Auxiliary Program Division winners. The national winner will receive an additional $1000 VISA gift card.
