Pearland Junior High students compete in Thespian Festival

Pearland Independent School District junior high theatre students from Berry Miller Junior High, and Pearland Junior High East and South recently achieved success at the Texas Thespian Junior High Festival and Competition, held on December 9 in Alvin ISD.

The festival, presented by the Texas Thespians chapter of the International Thespian Honor Society, showcased various workshops, Tech challenges, a Theatre Design Competition and the Thespys, which included solo and group acting events.

Berry Miller Junior High School

Autumn Sanchez and Kendall Bell, Texas Qualifier Superior rating, Duet Acting
Micah Koshy, Aaron Le, Ashton Le, Madison Rojas and Alivia Evans, Texas Qualifier Superior rating, Group Acting.

Trace VanHoose, 3rd Place in Technical Design, Props

Pearland Junior High School East

Marissa Ceballos, Texas Qualifier Superior rating, Solo Dance
Lauren Pasquali, Texas Qualifier Superior rating, Monologue
Piper Witt and Aracely Peregrino, Texas Qualifier Superior rating, Duet Acting

Pearland Junior High School South

Ian Thompson, 2nd place in Technical Design, Scene Design
Rylee Guess 3rd place in Technical Design, Mask Design

The students were taught by Dr. Lynda Mcknight, Evelyn Linden and Gretchen Meyer, Theatre Directors at Berry Miller JH, PJH East and PJH South.
