Date:

In a notable celebration of musical talent, several Friendswood High School students have been distinguished with the honor of being named to the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State band. This recognition is a testament to their dedication and skill in their respective musical fields.

Among the celebrated students, Nathan Zheng, playing the trumpet in the 6A category, has achieved this recognition for the second time. This remarkable feat is shared by Evan Yang, a flutist, and Ethan Yang, a clarinetist in the 6A category and second-time all-staters. Their repeated success highlights the ongoing excellence in their musical journey.

Dalton McMahan is joining them in this prestigious group, showcasing his talent on the French horn in the 6A category. Owen Shaefer, a bassoonist in the 5A category, and Jude Krancher, a percussionist in the 5A category, add to the diverse range of instruments and talents represented in this year’s All-State band.

These students will have the esteemed opportunity to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic and Conference, which will be held in San Antonio this February. The event is a convergence of music education professionals and students, offering a platform for exceptional young musicians to showcase their talent and learn from industry leaders.

Recognizing these students at the TMEA All-State band is an individual achievement and a reflection of the hard work and support of their teachers, schools, and communities. It underscores the importance of music education in schools and its impact on nurturing the next generation of musicians.
