Silent film among Discovery Green plans

A noted silent film will be combined with a live performance at 7 p.m. Friday, January 19, at the Discovery Green Cinema Luminaire, presented by PNC Bank.

Audiences are invited to dive into the world of Georges Méliès in a silent film with live music from French violinist Kami Ghavi Helm. The director’s 1902 film, “A Trip to the Moon,” will be followed by a selection of his short films introduced by Keith Houk, a professor at the University of Houston.

Cinema Luminaire is presented in partnership between Discovery Green and the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston/Villa Albertine.
