Dawn Renee Netzel

Date:

Dawn Renee Netzel, 53, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 01, 2024. Dawn was born on June 24, 1970, in Pasadena, TX, to Allen and Florence Netzel. She grew up in Pearland, attending Pearland schools.

She was on the drill team Texan Bells through the Dad’s Club for six years. Dawn was very active in sports, especially volleyball and softball.

While in her Sr. year at PHS, Dawn received a two-year scholarship from Alvin Jr. College to play volleyball. Afterward, she attended San Jacinto Jr. College for a semester, then was accepted to Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in August 1994.

Dawn worked many jobs throughout her career; however, the job she spoke most highly of was when she worked for KBR from 2008-2011. While employed there, she worked in Iraq, Dubai, and Bahrain. It was a difficult job but many times she shared with her mother that she wished she had never left that area.

Dawn loved nature and the outdoors. She loved gazing at God’s creations. Always looking for unusual rocks, twigs and at the beautiful fallen leaves. She would bring them home and arrange them as if she was putting a puzzle together. Shown below you will see the last work of art she made.

She loved people and never met a stranger. Living in Tyler, she frequented the Alpha House to spend time having fellowship with friends. Also, she helped with a ministry called Church Under the Bridge, on Sundays.

Dawn is survived by her loving parents Allen and Florence Netzel, Deborah Vorpe, sister, and husband Tom; Danielle Wong, niece, and husband Connor; and Chandler Wong, great nephew. Other loving relatives include Dorothy Syptak, aunt; James Syptak, uncle; Jeanette Harville, aunt; Leslie Allen cousin; Jim Syptak, cousin and wife Amy, in addition numerous relatives and friends.

Dawn is preceded in death by Floyd and Ida Netzel, grandparents; Milford Syptak, grandfather and Marvin Netzel, uncle and Eddie Harville, uncle.

Dawn’s family would truly like to express their sincere thanks to Pam Johnston, Desiree Stevens, and Jack Ingram. These three people were special friends to Dawn. They were Mentors and always by her side, never turning their backs and always helping her.

Another sincere Thank You goes to her caring family at the Wiseman Lighthouse Ministries, Overton TX. Their love and kindness will never be forgotten.

And, to the many friends at Alpha House, Tyler TX. As well as to the medical staff on the 4th floor at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler TX.

Psalm 73-23 & 24: Yet I am always with you, you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.
