Mustangs edge out Fort Bend Kempner in nail-biting finish

The Friendswood Mustangs varsity basketball team narrowly defeated the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars with a final score of 40-38 this past Friday night.

The game, held in Sugar Land, Texas, saw the Mustangs secure a hard-fought victory in what was a closely contested Round 2 of the playoffs.

This win brings Friendswood’s season record to an impressive 25-10 and advances them to Round 3.

Holding the Cougars to just 38 points, the team’s ability to maintain focus and composure under pressure was key to their success.

Looking ahead, the Mustangs are set to face the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos in another non-league contest on Tuesday. The Buffalos are coming off a dominant 69-39 victory over Barbers Hill, boasting a formidable record of 33-2.
