Friendswood ISD (FISD) hosted its bi-annual Senior Coffee Talk on Friday, September 13, welcoming approximately 45 residents aged 65 and older from within the district’s boundaries. Attendees enjoyed a morning of coffee, donuts, and updates on the latest district news, shared by Superintendent Thad Roher.

A special highlight of the event was a visit from students at the FISD Transition Center, a post-high school facility dedicated to helping students with special needs develop essential life and job skills.

This gathering serves as a way for FISD to express gratitude to its senior community for their longstanding support. In addition to fostering connections, it offers attendees the chance to pick up an FISD t-shirt and the coveted Gold Card, if they haven’t already.

The Gold Card provides seniors with free general admission to all FISD regular-season home athletic games and fine arts performances, including plays, concerts, and choir events—a small token of appreciation for their enduring contributions to the Friendswood community.

FISD thanks its seniors for their continued support of the district.
