Celebrating Attendance Success in Friendswood ISD: A Community Effort

Date:

by FISD Communication Department

Friendswood ISD is proud to celebrate the remarkable improvement in Average Daily Attendance (ADA) across the district. This achievement is a testament to the strong partnership between schools, parents, and students, all working together to ensure that students are present and ready to learn daily.

When students attend school regularly, they benefit academically, socially, and emotionally. Being in the classroom helps them build essential skills, form relationships with peers and teachers, and feel more connected to their school community. Every day in attendance is another step toward success, both in and out of the classroom.

It’s important to remember that missing as few as two days of school a month can lead to chronic absenteeism. This can add up quickly and negatively impact a student’s academic progress and social development.

The district’s ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance are paying off. Based on the most recent numbers, Friendswood ISD is up 2.36% over the cumulative total from the first six weeks of the 2023-2024 school year. Each campus has seen notable improvements, reflecting the collective commitment to supporting student achievement.

Friendswood ISD’s success in increasing attendance is a reason to celebrate, and it highlights the power of community collaboration. Together, the district, parents, and students are making a positive impact, one day at a time.
