The fast casual sub chain Potbelly Sandwich Works this month announced expansion plans that include five locations in the Southeast Houston area, including Pearland and Galveston.
In addition to Texas, the planned expansion includes Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, and Virginia for 32 new shops. The company’s long-term goal is to open 2,000 shops, with at least 85 percent of those being franchised.
The company opened its first shop in Chicago in 1977 and has since expanded to 425 locations.
