Sales tax up slightly in November

The City of Pearland experienced a slight uptick in sales tax revenue allocated this month, according to data released by the Texas Comptroller’s office.

Monthly distributions of sales tax revenue are based on sales two months earlier.
Cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose distrust received roughly $1.2 billion in sales tax allocations for November, about 1 percent more than the same period in 2023.

The latest monthly distribution to Pearland was 2.7 percent over the same period in 2023.

Year-to-date sales tax collections for 2024 are up from the prior year only slightly — about 1.7 percent — over the same period in 2023, according to the Comptroller’s office.
