A 70-year-old transient woman with a British accent was identified as a person of interest after a threat evacuated the Brazoria County Courthouse and areas in a 2-mile radius a week ago.
A statement issued by the Angleton Police Department said the threat was made on February 27 via a 911 call made near the intersection of N. Chenango and East Locust Street. This resulted in the evacuation of the courthouse area and the closure of surrounding streets while an investigation was conducted.
An “all clear” was issued around 1 pm the same day, but the courthouse campus remained closed for the entire day on Thursday, resuming hours on Friday.
The same day, police began searching for a woman identified as Denise Pamela McCullough, a blond woman “thought to have a fit build and known to speak with a British accent,” according to the statement.
The woman was believed to be a transient who frequents both Brazoria and Galveston counties. Anyone with information is asked to contact local authorities.
No bombs were found during multiple searches of the area, and no one was injured.
