HOSA Students Advance to International Competition

Date:

The Future Health Professionals chapter made an impressive showing at the 2025 Texas HOSA State Leadership Conference, held last week in Round Rock, with several students earning top honors and advancing to international competition.

Twelve FHS students represented the school across various competitive events, and five earned international qualifications.

The team of Joel Blessan, Lillian Gonzales, Noah Love, and Shayan Saqib took first place in the state in the Biomedical Debate, securing their place at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in June.

In Medical Reading, Shivam Gupta earned second place in the state, while Bryan Nguyen placed third in the Biotechnology event—both advancing to internationals.

Two other students earned top-five finishes in the World Health and Disparities event: Giselle Garcia placed fourth, and Ky-Minh To placed fifth, making them official alternates for the international competition.

Two EMT teams from Friendswood also placed among the top ten in the state: Laila Ahmed and Gizelle Greene and Aidan Larson and Canon Cashen, showcasing the depth and quality of the school’s health science program.

The HOSA International Leadership Conference will be held in June in Nashville, Tennessee.
