Voters select school board trustees

Pearland ISD voters choose Jim Johnson and Daniel Stuckey as the newest members of the Board of Trustees, according to unofficial results released by the Brazoria County elections office. 

Election results are considered unofficial until their respective boards canvas them. The City of Pearland did not have any contested races Saturday. 

Pearland ISD

Pearland Chamber CEO Jim Johnson received just over 58 percent of ballots cast vs. incumbent Jenny Francis’ 41.5 percent for Position No. 6 on the board. 

For Position No. 5, Daniel Stuckey, a sales and marketing director with a background in education, received 60 percent of votes cast over opponent Azania Salazar’s 40 percent. 

Position No. 7 Trustee Nanette Weimer was unopposed. 

Alvin ISD

In Alvin ISD, Position No. 4 challenger Brian Roberson II received an even 3,000 ballots, just over 58 percent, vs. incumbent Regan Peterson, with just under 42 percent. 

For position No. 5, Cheryl B. Harris appeared to edge out opponent T’Liza Kiel, 2,738 ballots to 2,430.
