City gives initial OK for RV, boat facility

Date:

Pearland City Council on Monday approved the first reading of a zone change needed for an RV and boat storage business near Dixie Farm Road and Main Street.

The project has received support from city staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission, who agree that the facility would provide a buffer between Dixie Farm Road and the landfill to the east.

“I think this is a good use,” Mayor Kevin Cole said. “The landfill is not going anywhere soon.”

The zone change’s second and final reading is expected on June 9.
