CCISD gains higher ratings after appeal

Date:

Clear Creek ISD’s accountability ratings received a significant boost this week after the Texas Education Agency (TEA) granted the district’s appeal of its 2025 State Accountability scores. The decision resulted in improved ratings for six high schools and a higher overall district score.

With the appeal approved, CCISD’s overall rating rose from 86 to 88, a change district officials say more accurately reflects student achievement and ongoing academic progress.

Several campuses saw notable gains, including three high schools that improved to an A rating following the correction of data. Clear Brook High School increased its score from 85 to 90, while Clear Creek High School improved from 85 to 89. Clear Falls High School saw one of the largest jumps, moving from 84 to 92. Clear Lake High School rose from 91 to 95, Clear Springs High School increased from 91 to 94, and Clear View High School improved from 83 to 92.

“These updated ratings reflect the exceptional work happening every day in our classrooms,” Superintendent Dr. Karen Engle said. “We appreciate TEA’s thorough review and recognition of the corrected data, which more accurately represents the achievements of our students and staff.”

The appeal was based on errors found in the district’s 2023–2024 PEIMS submission, specifically within College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators. TEA allowed districts to amend certain College Prep and Industry-Based Certification data through a PEIMS Working Submission as part of the appeals process.

District officials say the corrections not only improved numerical ratings but also better represent the college and career readiness of CCISD students.
