Students and families from across the Pearland and Alvin areas will have an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year while enjoying an evening of entertainment, resources, and community spirit at the upcoming Back-to-School Community Youth Bash.
Hosted by Gathering Outreach Community Services, the event will feature a first-of-its-kind appearance by both Alvin ISD Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Mason and Pearland ISD Superintendent Dr. Larry Berger, who will share a message of encouragement and student success as the new school year approaches.
Organizers say the event is designed to help students start the school year prepared and motivated while connecting families with valuable community resources.
The celebration will include free school supplies and backpacks, health resources, free physicals, youth performances, giveaways, raffles, food trucks, and live music provided by a DJ. Community organizations and service providers will also be on hand to share information about programs available to local families.
This year’s event will feature a “Neon Nights” theme, with a variety of illuminated attractions planned throughout the venue. Guests can enjoy an LED dance floor, LED swings, giant LED games, and other interactive activities designed to create a fun and memorable experience for students of all ages.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear bright neon colors and join in the celebration.
In addition to providing school supplies and resources, event leaders hope the gathering will strengthen connections among students, parents, educators, and community partners while building excitement for the year ahead.
“This is where students get excited about the year ahead, families connect with valuable resources, and our community comes together to celebrate the limitless potential of our youth,” organizers said.
The event is expected to draw families from both Alvin ISD and Pearland ISD and serve as a community-wide kickoff to the 2026-27 school year.
