2 Chambers to offer HUB Certification event

The Pearland Chamber of Commerce and the Brazoria County Hispanic Chamber are hosting a HUB Certification presentation July 25, 2022 at University of Houston Clear Lake – Pearland.

The event will run from 11 am to 2 pm.

HUB is an acronym for Historically Underutilized Business. Texas has awarded billions of dollars in contracts to companies certified as HUBs.

If someone operates a business in Texas, resides in Texas and is a minority, a woman or a Veteran, they can register for the event to increase their exposure to state purchasers and to obtain a state HUB certification.

Keynote speakers will be Maya Ingram, Statewide HUB Program Manager, Statewide Procurement Division (SPC) and Comptroller of Public Accounts and Terri Reed, El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, MBDA Business Center Project Director.

Along with the keynote speakers the event will also include two webinars prior to the July 25 event  and in-person marketing training. There will also be a HUB Certification presentation and lunch.

The two webinars will be July 8 at 11 am and July 15 at 3 pm (CST). Terri Reed will provide the webinars  for participants to walk through the certification online packet.

The in-person marketing training will cover the capability statement and website development.

Registration fee is $40 per chamber member and $55 for prospective members.
