Historical Museum to Present ‘A Victorian Lady on the Texas Frontier’

Date:

In honor of Women’s History Month, Jill Bailer with Bayou Bend will present “A Victorian Lady on the Texas Frontier.” Bailer will explore early Texas through the eyes of Ann Raney Coleman, who came to Texas with her family in the 1830s.

From the struggle for Texas independence to the Federal attack on the Texas Gulf Coast in the Civil War, Anne Raney Coleman shared her firsthand accounts in her journal before she passed in 1897.

Discover early Texas history from a woman who had a knack for finding herself in the center of the action.

The life and adventures of Anne Raney Coleman will be shared Thursday, March 7th, at 6 pm at the Brazoria County Historical Museum.

The museum is located at 100 East Cedar in Angleton. Admission to this event is free and open to the public. For more information, please follow the museum on Facebook or call 979-864-1208.
