Pearland residents can celebrate Independence Day close to home on July 4 with the city’s Celebration of Freedom at Independence Park, 3449 Pearland Parkway.
Scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m., the free community event includes live music by Danny Ray and the Atlantic Street Band, a children’s area, food trucks, strolling entertainment, raffles, and an arts and crafts market. It is highlighted by an 18-minute fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m.
“These events would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, the value and importance of them being actively involved in the community is very much recognized and appreciated,” special event coordinator Lindsey Taylor said.
“We would like to make a huge shout out to our returning partner Bayway Chevrolet – presenting sponsor for the Celebration of Freedom, to our long-term partner H-E-B and to our new Hometown Heroes Monster Mural Sponsor, Texas Emergency Care Center.”
Free parking will be at Pearland High School, 3775 S. Main St. Accessible parking will be available at the park, entering through Liberty Drive. Guests can bring food and drinks to the park and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Tents, canopies, glass, pets, and tobacco are prohibited.
