State OKs 10-year transportation plan

Date:

The Texas Transportation Commission on Aug. 22 approved TxDOT’s 10-year planning document known as the Unified Transportation Program, a statewide planning program covering more than $104 billion in projects over the next decade.

In Brazoria County, projects listed in the plan included widening FM 518 in two sections — from FM 865 to Highway 35 and from Highway 288 to FM 865. Also in the plan for Brazoria County is a bridge replacement on FM 2004 at Chocolate Bayou and a widening of Highway 332 from FM 521 to Highway 288.

The plan, known as the UTP, is designed to guide project development over the next decade.
