Pearland Independent School District invites the community to unleash their creativity at Big Art Day, a free, family-friendly event celebrating Youth Art Month. Join us on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pearland Town Center Pavilion (11200 Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77584).
Hosted by Pearland ISD’s Fine Arts department, Big Art Day aligns with the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) initiative to raise awareness about the vital role of art and theatre in schools and the community.
“Art education provides students with invaluable opportunities for learning, growth, and the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills,” said Victor Raygoza, Pearland ISD Fine Arts Coordinator. “This is our third year hosting Big Art Day, and we’re excited to celebrate Youth Art Month with an event that brings our community together to enjoy and appreciate art.”
Event Highlights:
Live Chalk Art: Witness the breathtaking talent of over 55 high school and junior high students as they create stunning, space-themed chalk art masterpieces.
Make and Takes: Children of all ages can participate in hands-on art projects with the guidance of Pearland ISD art teachers.
Theatre and Dance Performances: Enjoy captivating performances by Pearland High School’s Pearland Theatre and Dawson High School’s Ovation Theatre.
Face Painting: Add a splash of color to your day with creative face painting.
Door Prizes: Win exciting prizes throughout the event.
Food Trucks: Satisfy your cravings with delicious offerings from local food trucks.
Student Art Exhibit: Explore student artwork displayed in various stores across Pearland Town Center.
