Friendswood Chamber of Commerce is seeking sponsorships now for Lemonade Day in Friendswood May 2. Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand.

All sponsorship levels are available.

The main objective of Lemonade Day around the nation is to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society – the business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and forward thinking citizens of tomorrow.

Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community.

Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.

So far, UTMB Health is the Presenting Sponsor in Friendswood with Lemon Drop Sponsors, FJH Custodial and Raymond James. Lemon Zest sponsors are Ron Carter Cadillac Hyundai. Fresh Squeeze sponsor so far is HomeTown Bank of Friendswood. Main Squeeze sponsor is Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital.

Sponsorships are also available for Award Sponsors for Best Tasting Lemonade or Best Lemonade Stand. HomeTown Bank of Friendswood is the sponsor for Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Minuteman Press is an In-Kind sponsor.

Lemonhead volunteers are also needed.

To be a sponsor or volunteer, contact the Chamber for applications at 281-482-3329. For more information email carol@friendswoodchamber.com.
