While the City of Friendswood has cancelled three large events for Stevenson Park this fall, there remains one annual event still on their calendar, the 2020 Flapjack Fun Run.

Recently, three holiday events were cancelled due to pandemic guidelines and orders from Governor Greg Abbott. The three events were Halloween in the Park, KFB-Santa in the Park and the Christmas Lighted Parade.

The Sixth Annual  Flapjack Fun Run is scheduled for December 5, 2020. While no 2020 detailed information is posted at this time, registration has been posted to begin October 1, 2020 at 8 am online. A 5k run, 5k walk and Kids K are planned.

The route, if the same as in the past events, will begin near the Stevenson Park Gazebo and make one and a half laps around the track before heading out to Cedarwood Ave. Runners will follow the route to the Fire Station on Heritage then back to Stevenson Park, where they will finish near the Large Rotary Pavilion.

The 2019 event expected 200-400 runners and walkers participating with all proceeds used for City Park Improvements. Whataburger sponsored the pancake breakfast featured in the name of the event.

All information as well as online registration will be available at the City of Friendswood website https://www.ci.friendswood.tx.us.
