Two public hearings were held November 2, 2020 prior to the Manvel City Council meeting held by teleconference.

The first public hearing was to hear input from the public regarding the applicants request for a final plat of Meridiana Cumulus Drive Phase One and a partial replat of Lulling Stone Section 3, a subdivision of 2.135 acres. The reason for the replat is to dedicate right of way.

The second public hearing was to hear input from the public regarding the applicant’s request for a final plat of Meridiana  Section 29 and a partial replat of Lulling Stone Section 3 being a subdivision of 9.225 acres. The reason for the replat is to create 15 lots, one block and four reserves.

At the Council meeting, Mayor Debra Davison expressed gratitude to the Unbound Board and staff for their help with the recent amendments to the City Zoning Ordinance regarding Human Trafficking.

City Manager Kyle Jung provided the Council with an update on the Emergency Declaration regarding COVID 19.

In the regular agenda, Council approved a subdivision variance request for property located in the Meridiana Development for relief from Chapter 62, Section 62-11, additional street requirements.

Council also approved 30 day extensions for four preliminary plats for Meridiana Pursley Blvd. Phase 3, Meridiana Section 48, Meridiana Section 49, and Meridiana Detention Reserve T Phase 1.

Council tabled the resolution finding that Brazoria County Municipal Utility District No, 42 is in default of its duties under the January 1, 2014 Interlocal and Development Agreement with the city exercising the city’s right to terminate the agreement; and making other provisions related to the subject. There has been no response and the Council wants to wait for a response.

While the consent agenda was approved unanimously, Council member Dan Davis asked to remove  the item that refers to the master plan from Rodeo Plans. He requested to know where the changes were being made. City Manager Jung replied and told Davis exactly where the changes were. Colony Section 6 is where the changes are being made. Attorney Bobby Gervais assisted in the explanation. The item regarding the updated master plan for Rodeo Palms was approved 5-1 vote.
