Three Pearland Independent School District students were recognized at the Brazoria County Petrochemical Council (BCPC) Signing Day on May 9, hosted by the BCPC Workforce Development committee. At the event, the high school seniors were invited to pursue a full-time position within the petrochemical industry upon graduation.
Turner College and Career High School senior Vincent Villa signed with Brock and Chevron Phillips Chemical. Also from TCCHS, Gabriel Angel signed with Repcon and Dow. Seve Cazares from Dawson High School signed with I.C.S. Inc., Dow and Olin.
Signing Day Ceremony was a celebration of students along with their families and supporters of their next step after graduation into full-time employment. Students were challenged to take advantage of the opportunity ahead of them, to work hard, pursue excellence and network, being exposed to limitless possibilities in the construction field.
To participate in BCPC Signing Day, students were required to have been a student in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) class, complete an application, participate in multiple interviews at ABC Texas Gulf Coast in Freeport. The graduates will be reporting to work summer 2022 as employees with multiple contractor and owner companies within the Brazoria County area.
