Friendswood Library honors 2 for cultural programming

Vineet Majmudar and Martha Leyva are recipients of the Friendswood Library 2022 Award for Outstanding Cultural Programming.

This year’s recipients are honored for their dedication in providing outstanding English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to the community.

In 2015, Friendswood Library established an award to recognize volunteers who have provided outstanding programs, instruction, or other volunteer service to the patrons of the Friendswood Library.

Prior year recipients include:

2015: John Gorman (Poetry and Literature programming)

2016: Chaja Verveer (Holocaust Survivor programming)

2017: Wm N Crawford III (Civil War, World War II, and Genealogy programming)

2018: Stephanie Pilar Peirce (ESL instruction)

2019: Dorte O. Koustrup (Mindfulness and Meditation instruction)

2020: Harold Benson (NASA and Apollo programming)

2021: Diane Freeman (Friends of the Library Book Sale Leadership)

2021: Maddie Short (Friends of the Library Leadership and Fundraising)
