Pearland Independent School District Fine Arts Coordinator Victor Raygoza was recently recognized as the 2022 Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Distinguished Fellow.
The TAEA Distinguished Fellow award designation is given to individuals who have made significant, long-term and distinguished contributions to the work of the association and to the advancement of the art education profession.
The Distinguished Fellows act as an advisory group of committed professional art educators for long-term TAEA sustained development, financial growth and policy issues that relate to the history and continuity of the goals of TAEA. They have been active in the development of many programs such as VASE, the Leadership Conferences, the newly formed TAEA Foundation and more.
With 25 years in education, Raygoza joined the Pearland ISD team in the fall of 2019. Raygoza is passionate about empowering teachers and students to succeed in the field of visual and performing arts, and is humbled by the TAEA’s recognition.
“Joining this group of highly accomplished hard-working and respected art educators is beyond any goal I have set for my career,” Raygoza said. “Just to be nominated as a TAEA Distinguished Fellow is an honor in and of itself. I am provided an opportunity on a state-wide scale to mentor the younger generations of art professionals and for that I am grateful.”
