No. 9 Lady Oilers beat Lady Bears 48-28

A strong first quarter set the pace for the No. 11 state-ranked Pearland Lady Oilers as they beat the Alief Hastings Lady Bears 48-28 to improve to 25-3 overall and 7-0 in District 23-6A action.

The current success of the Lady Oilers also garnered Team of the Week honors by Allegiance Bank.

Pearland began the second round of district competition with a solid 48-28 win over Alief Hastings after sweeping through the first round with a perfect record.

Four players registered 10 points each against the Lady Bears that included Janae Tucker, Nyah Hardy, Paige Bonner, and RyLee Grays.

Pearland opened up the league contest with a 10-0 first quarter and continued the offensive assault by taking the second period 15-10 for a 25-10 lead at intermission.

The Lady Oilers finished off the Lady Bears 11-9 in the third quarter and 12-9 in the fourth frame for the 48-28 district win.

Grays led Pearland with 13 rebounds while Bonner had three assists and five steals.
