The much-awaited Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Cline Elementary School has been postponed, according to a recent statement released by Friendswood Independent School District (ISD).
The decision was described by school officials as “difficult yet necessary.” The statement read, “Following our meeting with Cline’s construction team, we have made the difficult yet necessary decision to postpone the Grand Opening / Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.”
Despite the change in the school’s grand opening schedule, Friendswood ISD assured parents and the wider community that the school will still be prepared for the start of the academic year on August 15th. “While Cline will be prepared for the first day of school, they will not be fully ready for the Grand Opening by the end of July,” the district explained.
While the news may come as a disappointment to some, the district has promised to share the new date and plans for the grand opening as soon as they are finalized.
