Dia de los Muertos festivities under way

A month-long celebration of Dia de los Muertos will continue until Nov. 3 at local libraries through a collaboration with the Brazoria County Historical Museum and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“Dia do Los Muertos: A Month of Remembrance” will include a display of student art contest entries at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum, 249 Circle Way, Lake Jackson, along with a Family Fun Day Oct. 21 with live performances, crafts, face painting and food trucks.
On Nov. 2 — All Souls Day — Freeport Main Street presents a Día de los Muertos Procession beginning at 6 p.m.
On Nov. 3, the Brazoria County Historical Museum will be the site of a Dia de los Muertos School Showcase with student art exhibit and reception.
