Christmas Trees will be accepted until January 13 for the annual Dunes Day Christmas tree recycling project.
Tree drop-off is at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center, 5800 Magnolia Parkway. Trees must have no flocking, tinsel, or decorations.
The annual Dunes Day program turns Christmas trees into sand dunes along the Brazoria County coastline to strengthen them against storm surges.
From 9 a.m. to noon on January 20 at Surfside Jetty County Park, 101 Parkview Road, volunteers will meet to plant trees in the sand dunes of Follett’s Island beaches.
