The Texas Department of Transportation in February will hold virtual and in-person public hearings about a Highway 6 corridor study in Brazoria County.

The access management study will focus on the portion of Highway 6 from east of Highway 35 to the Galveston County Line, identifying ways to reduce crashes, improve mobility, and support development.

An in-person meeting to gain public input is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Alvin Community College Nolan Ryan Center, 2925 Bypass 35 South in Alvin.

A virtual public meeting presenting the same information will be available starting Monday, Feb. 12, at 5 p.m. Afterward, the presentation will remain up for viewing through the end of the input period on Feb. 28.

Those without internet can call 713-802-5199 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays to ask questions and access project materials during the project development.
Public comments can be submitted in any language by mail to TxDOT Houston District Office Attn: advanced project development director, P.O. Box 1386 Houston, TX 77251-1386.
