A local resident who opened a successful music education studio in Houston has decided to bring her expansion home to Pearland.
Czarina Schocker began teaching at Compassion Music Studio in Houston.
“It was a shared working space with two glass walls, and I was really blessed with the opportunity of it growing,” she said. “This new construction unit is the perfect space that I need.”
Pearland Council, on Monday, unanimously approved a conditional use permit allowing an educational music program to operate in the city’s Business Park 288 District at 2743 Smith Ranch Road.
“It’s not an amplified sound setup; it is singing and piano to teach how to listen and be a good audience member for any style of music,” she said. “It’s to help families learn how to use music to improve communication skills.”
Members of the council were enthusiastic about the expansion into Pearland.
“This is a very unique concept. I don’t think I’ve seen this before,” Councilman Adrian Hernandez said.
Construction of the 288 office park began in 2019 and is still in progress.
