Deputy Investigator John Coddou who was Killed in the Line of Duty
The 100 Club, a 71-year-old Houston-based non-profit organization, which supports the dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed or seriously injured in the line of duty, announces its assistance for the dependent family of Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Investigator John Coddou.
Deputy Investigator Coddou was fatally struck by a vehicle while assisting at a crash scene on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. He had been with the agency for over 20 years. Deputy Investigator Coddou is survived by his wife.
A $20,000 check will be presented to Deputy Investigator Coddou’s wife to help with any immediate financial needs. Additional financial support for the dependent family will be made after an assessment of their needs is conducted. Over 220 officer and firefighter families have been assisted, with more than $50 million in financial assistance being provided.
Donations are being accepted to “The 100 Club Survivor’s Fund”, that provides benefits to the dependents of firefighters and law enforcement officers who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

The 100 Club began in 1953 when a handful of citizens banded together to provide financial support to the dependents of Houston Police Officers killed in the line of duty.
Since then, The 100 Club has grown to over 27,000 members who continue to band together for the purpose of aiding dependents of peace officers and firefighters who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
