Hosted by the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, the 18th annual Pear Run is this Saturday at Independence Park.
Now, with a 10K course in addition to the 5K, the event began 23 years ago to help provide law enforcement with non-budgeted items such as drones and bikes. Both routes will start and end at the park, 3449 Pearland Parkway.
Race-day packet pickup begins at 6:45 a.m., the 10K begins at 7:30 a.m., and the 5K begins at 8 a.m. Partial closures of Pearland Parkway and Dixie Farm are scheduled for the race; roads should be reopened by 9:30 a.m. More information can be found at PearRun.com.
