Singer and guitarist Hamilton Loomis will kick off Pearland’s annual Concerts in the Park Series at 7 p.m. this Friday at Southdown Park.
A native of Galveston, Loomis performs blues rock and has released eight albums, one of which rose to No. 7 on Billboard’s Top Blues Albums chart.
Free and open to the public, the Concerts in the Park series is held every Friday during May and June. All May concerts will be held at Southdown Park, 2150 Countryplace Parkway, and June concerts will be held at Independence Park, 3449 Pearland Parkway.
Food vendors will be on hand, and picnics, lawn chairs, and blankets are encouraged. Glass is prohibited in the park, and pets must be on a leash.
The concert lineup includes variety band Flash Point on May 10, Marcus Ardoin and the Zydeco Legendz on May 17, Latin salsa band Mango Punch on May 24, classic rock band Adrian’s Fault on May 31, rock band Black Friday Project on June 7, 1960s tribute band The Fab 5 on June 14, country music by Texas Unlimited Band on June 21, and classic and 1980s band Timeless HTX on June 28.
