Burglary
May 12 (5:57 p.m.) Two Dewalt drills were stolen from a work van parked in the 1100 block of Glenshannon Avenue. The door locks on the van were damaged during the burglary.

Theft
May 6 (9:06 a.m.) A Friendswood woman lost her engagement ring at Palm Beach Tan, located at 136 W. Parkwood Avenue. She remembers taking the ring off in the tanning booth and placing the ring on a shelf. An attendant cleaned the booth and the victim’s husband was the next person inside the tanning booth and the ring was gone.
May 7 (8:41 a.m.) A Friendswood woman paid some local teens to move two couches for her in April. The night before the move, the woman left a diamond and gold ring, a pearl necklace, and her dog’s embroidered service dog collar behind one of the couch cushions. When she went to retrieve the items, they were gone.
May 7 (12:56 p.m.) A Friendswood man wrote a check to the IRS to pay for his taxes. The envelope was tracked to the North Houston Distribution Center but was not tracked past that location. Now, the check has been processed and cashed, and the payee’s name altered.
May 7 (12:56 p.m.) A license plate was stolen from a boat trailer parked in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive. The owner realized the license plate was stolen after receiving toll notices in the mail. The boat trailer license plate was displayed on a black Honda Accord.
May 8 (11:30 a.m.) A Friendswood business check was issued and mailed to a vendor from the Friendswood Post Office. The check was deposited by a person not affiliated with the vendor and the vendor claims they never received the check.
May 8 (8:18 p.m.) A 22-year-old Pearland man is accused of stealing a wrench set and a pair of pliers. The suspect stuffed the merchandise down his pants and walked out of the store without paying. He left in a red Cadillac. A warrant is pending.
May 10 (10:30 a.m.) A temporary license plate was stolen from a vehicle in the 2400 block of Quiet Manor Court. The theft occurred sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Fraud
May 11 (10:12 a.m.) A Friendswood man reported that someone opened a bank account without permission using his personal information.

Traffic
May 11 (9:01 a.m.) A 54-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of W. Parkwood and Friendswood Parkway. When officers arrived, they found the bicyclist lying face down on the roadway. She was transported to a local hospital. Initially, the vehicle’s 16-year-old Friendswood teen driver did not stop. The driver hit the bicyclist as the driver made a right turn on red from Friendswood Parkway onto W. Parkwood Avenue. The driver later returned to the scene of the crash. The driver will receive a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way-Turning Right.

School Incidents
May 6 A 17-year-old Friendswood High School Student had a THC vaping device.
May 7 Two 17-year-old FHS students were involved in a fight on campus.

Other Incidents
May 9 (1:54 p.m.) Police are investigating suspicious activity at Walgreens located at 104 E. Parkwood. A report was made about an unknown male looking under a restroom stall at a female. Management waited more than an hour to call the police and a review of surveillance cameras did not immediately identify the suspect. The man is described as a white male, 30s to 40s, average build, wearing a multicolored tank top, Nike shorts, and a hat. He left in a 2010 to 2020 model blue Ford Mustang.

Case Update
Charges were filed against a Texas City man accused of stealing a rental car. The vehicle was rented in February 2024 and never returned. It was abandoned and recovered on May 4th. The investigation identified Keven Jason Stafford, 36, of Texas City, as the suspect. He drove the vehicle for more than two months while refusing to return the car or make a payment. He abandoned the vehicle after driving it through flood waters. Stafford was charged with Theft >= $30K < 150K, in Galveston County, with a $20,000 bond.
