Mccoy’s Building Supply $225,000 Gift To “Bring Her Home” Campaign

Date:

McCoy’s Building Supply has joined forces with the Battleship Texas Foundation with a $225,000 contribution to the “Bring Her Home” Restoration Campaign. McCoy’s was founded in Galveston in 1927 and is honored to support a project connected to its hometown. This contribution now propels total funds raised to near 90% completion of the $75,000,000 goal.

“As a Texas-based company, we are honored to stand with the Battleship Texas Foundation in this noble endeavor. Our contribution reflects the shared values of service and sacrifice that unite McCoy’s customers with the brave sailors who served aboard the Battleship Texas,” said Reid McCoy, Board Vice Chair of McCoy’s Building Supply and U.S. Navy Veteran.

“The Battleship Texas Foundation is immensely grateful for McCoy’s Building Supply’s bold leadership and unwavering support to bring the Battleship Texas one step closer to her rightful place as a living testament to the courage and sacrifice of those who served her,” said Tony Gregory, CEO of the Battleship Texas Foundation.

The Battleship Texas stands as a monument to the courage of those who sailed her into battle. Decommissioned and commemorated as a museum and memorial on April 21, 1948, she remains a symbol of strength and freedom. Established in 1998 as a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, the Battleship Texas Foundation continues to champion her preservation and transformation into a living testament to the indomitable spirit of America.

“McCoy’s has answered the call, guiding us toward our shared restoration goals. We hope their example inspires others to join our ranks and ensure the USS Texas stands proud for generations to come,” said Gregory. “Together, let us secure the legacy of the USS Texas – a living testament to the values of freedom, sacrifice, and education.”
