FISD gears up for new school year

As summer draws to a close, Friendswood students are preparing to return to school for the 2024-2025 academic year. The online registration and verification process will open on August 2nd via Skyward. Students who complete the verification process will receive their schedules on August 12th after 5 pm.

Friendswood High School will distribute Chromebooks and take student photos in the Senior Mall starting August 5th from 9 am to 4 pm. The distribution schedule is as follows:

• Seniors: August 5th
• Juniors: August 6th
• Sophomores: August 7th
• Freshmen: August 8th
A mandatory parent meeting for incoming freshmen will be held on the evening of August 8th at 6 pm in the new Performing Arts Center.

Additional Events and Meetings

Friendswood Junior High is hosting a Parent Night for incoming 6th graders at 6 pm on August 7th.

Windsong Elementary School will host a Meet and Greet for Kindergarten through 2nd grade at 2:30 pm and for 3rd through 5th grade at 3:30 pm on August 12th.

Bales Elementary School will host a Meet the Teacher event from 3 pm to 4 pm on August 12th.

These events mark the beginning of an exciting new school year filled with opportunities for learning and growth. Parents and students are encouraged to complete the necessary registration steps promptly and attend the scheduled events to ensure a smooth start to the school year.

The first day of school is set for Tuesday, August 13th. On this day, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are not required to report until 11:50 am, while all other grades must arrive at their scheduled times.
