City: Natatorium work on schedule

Date:

Major repairs and replacements at the Pearland natatorium are on schedule despite the impacts of Hurricane Beryl, according to the city.

The natatorium project began July 1 and is expected to continue through Sept. 22. The natatorium is closed since pools must be drained. Work includes replastering the competition pool and replacing the air handling unit, chemical treatment system, ultraviolet sanitation system, and mechanical filtration system.

A grand reopening of the natatorium is planned for late September or early October.
