Repair shop proposed for Bardet St.

Date:

An auto repair shop is proposed for a leased space off Wagon Trail Road.
Pearland Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 5 voted unanimously to recommend a conditional use permit for an auto repair shop at 5929 Bardet St.

If the city council grants the permit, the shop would provide services ranging from oil changes to transmission and engine repair. Rosharon mechanic Mauricio Larios is requesting the conditional use permit.

The 12,470-foot office warehouse space at the location was built in 2016.
During the Planning and Zoning meeting, city staff reported seven auto repair businesses within a mile of the proposed shop but said the list includes minor auto repairs such as brakes and oil changes.

A public hearing on Aug. 5 drew no speakers.
