Friendswood ISD (FISD) marked its 85th anniversary with the much-anticipated eighth annual Under the Oaks celebration on Thursday, Aug. 8. This cherished event, which brings together students, parents, faculty, and the local community, set the stage for the upcoming 24-25 school year.
Held under the iconic oaks that symbolize Friendswood’s deep roots and commitment to supporting education, the celebration was an ode to the rich history of Friendswood ISD.
As he addressed the crowd of 500, FISD Superintendent Thad Roher emphasized the significant ties each person present holds to the past and the future of the District. He reminded them that whether they are new to FISD or have generational links, each person plays a role in the success of the students of Friendswood.
Additionally, the event featured fun performances from the FHS Drumline, the FHS Cheer team, and the Wranglerettes.
As FISD looks forward to another successful school year, it remains committed to growth and excellence, celebrating the past while embracing the future. The District wishes everyone a great and safe school year.
