District marks 30,000th enrollment

Date:

Alvin ISD this month enrolled the district’s 30,000th student at Nichols Mock Elementary: first grader Lucio Ubalde, who received a certificate and celebration with his classmates.

The school district has more than doubled enrollment over the past 20 years as surrounding communities rapidly expand. Alvin ISD marked 26,000 students in 2018.

District enrollment is projected to grow by 11.31 percent by the 2028-29 school year, and enrollment is forecast to hit 36,951 with the next decade — growth fueled by the availability of more than 2,435 developed lots in AISD boundaries plus 19,711 lots planned for future development.
