Eatery to rebuild patio cover

Date:

A Mexican restaurant in Old Town will be allowed to rebuild an outdoor patio cover, as the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment decided at its recent meeting.

Since changing hands, the restaurant at 2536 Grand Blvd. has gotten new paint, and a covered patio has been demolished. To rebuild the patio cover, however, the owners had to request a special exception from the city since it is now within the Old Town Mixed Use District. The board of adjustment OKed that request on Oct. 3.

The restaurant was built in 1993 when the area was zoned for general business, which permits restaurants.
